The PS Vita gaming system has long been one of the best handheld
consoles, despite the low rating of some of its UMD games. Because of
the relatively expensive prices of these UMD games, coders, programmers,
and hackers have made their way into the PSVita operating system and
consolidated the SONY PlayStation Vita hardware with the convenience of
the internet.
Many Homebrew applications are now available in the internet.
These are games or applications created by the homebrew community
consisting of hackers, programmers, and testers (which are commonly just
normal teenagers and individuals that test the applications).
But these applications can’t be played on a raw PS Vita. You
have to hack your own Play Station Vita to make the applications work.
Giving your PSV a custom firmware will allow access to many of these
homebrew applications. Firmware xTractor will create a backup copy of
the consoles firmware that can later be manipulated or restored to get
back the warranty coverage.
